The Wine
ACCOLADES
"This Napa Cabernet blend was easily worthy of my recommendation. That said, the wine comes from a micro-producer on whom little information is available. I'm not sure if the operation has sustainable legs. But this wine speaks for itself, and if they can replicate it year after year, good for them.
The fruit for this wine is sourced from Atlas Peak and Calistoga, the former lending structure to the backbone of the wine, the latter lending its lush fruit profile. The blend is 49% each Cab and Merlot, 1% each Cab Franc and Petite Verdot. And while we're tossing percentages about, it was aged for 16 months oak barrels, of which 50% were new. Only 100 cases produced.
Tasting Notes
Aromas of dark fruits such as baked blueberries and bramble fruits give way to flavors of the same, topped by fresh-cracked pepper, sweet pie spice and hints of vanilla." - Dave the wine Merchant
